 2018 -2019  Game Recaps

North Quincy 3  Plymouth North 2

January 7th 2015

Wednesday Night in Plymouth the Raiders took on the 5-1 Plymouth North Eagles team. The Raiders came out strong in the 1st period Timmy Glynn scored his 6th goal of the season to put the Raiders up 1-0 and then after a holding penalty on Matt McDonald with 3 minutes left to go in the period Corey Hernandez scored what looked like a complete hustle shorthanded goal, but after a brief delay the refs called it a no goal stating the net was off.

Plymouth North seemed to rally after the questionable call went their way and came out hard in the 2nd. Taking the play to the Raiders and out shooting them 10-4. Plymouth North would get on the score board after Corey Hernandez was called for interference with 30 seconds left in the period, Plymouth North would need only 7 seconds on the PP as they scored to tie the game with 23 seconds left in the 2nd period.

The third period brought some excitement, 6 penalties between the 2 teams. The Raiders would take advantage on a 5 on 3 Power Play off Timmy Glynn's second of the game putting the Raiders up 2-1. That score would stand until 14 seconds left and the Plymouth North Goalie pulled, the Raiders couldn't clear a puck and the Eagles took advantage of it scoring the game tying goal with only 14 seconds left.

With only 14 seconds left and the faceoff in center ice it all but looked like this Patriot League game would end in a 2-2 tie. But no one told Mike Finn, Timmy Glynn and Andrew Kiley. Off the faceoff Kiley entered the zone wide and attempted to get the puck to the net, his first attempt was denied by the Plymouth North defender but Kiley collected the puck again and threw it on net where Glynn tipped it and Finn buried it with only 3 seconds remaining in the game, just a great overall team effort. The schedule doesn’t get an easier as the Raiders travel to Hobomock Arena to face Scituate on Saturday afternoon at 5pm.
